An intramedullary device and ankle fracture model, developed by Sonoma Orthopedics Products, Inc. (Buffalo Grove, IL, USA), is allowing surgeons to practice and apply a new surgical technique for small bone fractures, which may provide better results and less unwanted side effects than plate fixation – the current standard procedure.
