Certain biofabrication techniques cannot be incorporated with cell seeding owing to manufacturing conditions such as high pressure or temperature. In this free-to-access Editorial from Journal of 3D Printing in Medicine, Jing Yang (University of Nottingham, UK) presents details of a responsive microparticulate material that is printable under cell/protein-compatible conditions and mechanical properties similar to mechanical properties comparable to cancellous bone.
